It is well known in the prior art to use vehicles as a means of transportation of material such as gasoline and other fuels from a source to a receiving point. In the case of a liquid fuel pump, such as a fuel pump, mechanical problems are common and thus, if the liquid fuel is supplied to a tank that is empty there is a considerable risk of the explosion occurring. The danger of explosion is enhanced by the fact that flammable vapour can collect at the bottom of the tank and then slowly disperse throughout the tank.

It is well known in the prior art to use gravity feed tanks to store fuel for a vehicle. However, the prior art tanks are not particularly well suited for use as a fuel tank for a vehicle.
